Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

Establish a supportive and motivational relationship with the pupil(s) concerned. Establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs. Supervise and support students, ensuring safety and access to learning. Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students. Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by teachers. Attend to the student’s personal needs, including social, health, physical and welfare matters. Drawing on knowledge of various forms of special needs, to develop an understanding of the specific needs of the pupil concerned. Taking into account the special needs involved, to aid individuals to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on his/ her own. To encourage acceptance and integration of pupils with special needs. To develop methods of promoting/ reinforcing pupils' self-esteem.

Training Outcome:

Permanent role upon successful completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship.
