Early Years Apprentice

Set up for the day.

Settle in the children.

Supervise the children and engage them in play.

Plan and carry out activities based on the children’s interests and areas of development.

Prepare and clean up from snacks am and pm.

Clear up after lunch.

Tidy throughout the day.

Read stories and sing songs.

Communicate with parents and carers.

Record children’s learning and development.

Complete paperwork.

Clean up resources, floors, bathrooms etc.

Every day is different so you always need to be prepared to be flexible and do whatever is needed at the time.



Training:

Training and Qualification Level

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Early Years Practitioner Level 2. Work and interact directly with children on a day to day basis supporting the planning of and delivery of activities. City of Bristol College. Off site in its entirety.

Training Outcome:

We hope that the apprentice will progress to a permanent employed role with us after successful completion of their apprenticeship.



Employer Description:
Patchway Centre Pre-school and Tots is a committee run setting which has operated from within the community centre since opening in 1986. In 2021 we re-located into an extension of the community centre that was purposely designed and built for pre-school and Toddler ages children.

Working Hours :
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8.45am - 4.15pm. Thursday, 8.45am - 1.00pm Half hour unpaid lunch every day except Thursday.
