Early Years Apprentice

As a Early Years Apprentice, you will contribute to a high quality caring environment for children.

This includes:

Creating warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally Under supervision you will provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding Acting as key worker to a small group of children and recording observations and planning for them Assisting with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Being aware of the nurseries policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to Completing all work to desired timescales as set by Showcase Tutor

Training:

Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard:

NCFE/CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner Functional Skills in English and Maths to at level 1 minimum (unless exempt) Training completed via work-based visits at the preschool and 4 hour of study time provided for coursework

Training Outcome:
Upon completing Level 2, you may be offered the opportunity to progress to Level 3 or a full-time position and further training

Through our ethos and aims, we provide a consistently high standard of care and education. We have a vast outdoor area which includes a sensory garden, mud kitchen, vegetable patch and climbing frame giving our children a wide range of experiences. Children can join from 2 years of age until they transition to infant school. We are registered for 2-year-old funding, 3 / 4-year-old funding and 30-hour funding. All children bring with them a range of experiences, interests and abilities. The uniqueness of each child is valued, and their individuality is developed and celebrated. Our children are taught and cared for by a very experienced and well qualified team. In their keyperson role, the adults place emphasis on helping each child to develop their self-confidence, self-assurance, independence and personal and social skills. We are open Monday – Friday, 7:30 – 18:00, 51 weeks of the year except bank holidays and Christmas. We have a large garden which has been significantly landscaped to provide an enchanting outside area for all age groups to enjoy. Following recent developments this now includes a mud kitchen, growing area, and a variety of enticing activities to encourage all areas of the children’s development.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday (Term time only) - Wage is pro rata. Includes paid break of 20 mins Exact shifts TBC.
