Repairs Surveyor
A client within the Public Sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Property Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property services environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide building surveying services to manage, maintain, and improve Council-owned commercial properties, ensuring compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Inspecting and overseeing the repair and maintenance of Council-owned properties. Managing and coordinating building works, including the preparation of specifications and overseeing contractors. Conducting stock condition surveys and producing reports with recommendations for improvement. Providing technical advice on construction projects and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring timely completion of projects within budget.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a degree in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field and proven experience in building surveying and contract administration, ideally within a local authority environment.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Knowledge of building regulations, health and safety legislation, and CDM regulations. Experience in managing contractors and working with external partners. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (£24 p/h PAYE).
