Healthcare Assistant

A fantastic new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Healthcare Assistant to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the South West London area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers

This is one of the country’s leading mental health treatment centres. They provide fast access to high quality treatment for lots of different conditions, including addictions, depression, anxiety, stress and eating disorders

As the Healthcare Assistant your key duties include:

Support our residents with in-house activities and hobbies Providing support to achieve every day goals including personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting Manage some behaviours that challenge Assistant and support to attend medical appointments Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff Provide emotional support to individuals and their families Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support Analyse an individual’s needs and draw up a focused support plan

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature Empathy, understanding and patience Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges Competent in verbal and written English Previous experience as a HCA or SW in a similar service line

The successful Healthcare Assistant will receive an excellent salary of £25,294.57 FTE. We currently have permanent vacancies for both days and night shifts available. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
