Production Engineer

Production Engineer Location: Andover Salary: £40k Overview Are you a detail-orientated and organised individual with a passion for engineering and manufacturing technical support? Holt Engineering are seeking a talented Technical Production Engineer to join our client in Andover. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of their manufacturing processes for the complete lifecycle of their components. The company produces a variety of complex mechanical components for industries including Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, Pharmaceutical, Oil & gas and Marine industries. Production Engineer Responsibilities: - Document Review: Thoroughly review written work instructions, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to customer requirements and company standards. - Purchase Order Management: Acknowledge and process purchase orders promptly, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies. - Tooling and Material Management: Coordinate tooling requirements, purchase new tools, and maintain adequate stock levels. - Job Planning: Create detailed job plans, including tracking sheets, drill sheets, and FAIR sheets. - Subcontractor Management: Raise and check work instructions for subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery. - Supplier Liaison: Request quotes, ensure correct specifications, and negotiate the best prices. - Quality Assurance: Adhere to quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001) and customer-specific requirements. - Customer Communication: Maintain professional communication with customers, keeping them informed of progress and addressing any issues. - Non-Conformance Reporting: Assist in recording non-conforming products and implementing corrective actions. - Additional Duties: Undertake additional tasks as required to support the team. Production Engineer Requirements: - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent organisational and time management skills. - Previous machining background is desirable but not essential.  - Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills across multiple departments. - A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
