Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer required to design gas storage civil container structures specifically steel and concrete cryogenic tanks. Skills Commercial experience on structural cryogenic tank engineering, analysis, design, construction sequence and methods. Dynamics of structures and earthquake resistance design. Degree, Masters or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline. Design of steel structures Eurocodes, in particular EC3 and US equivalent. Interfacing the design and construction of storage tanks and industrial plants. Materials science. RLG storage tanks and international design codes. API 620 , EN 14620 The ideal candidate will be a Registered Chartered Engineer in a relevant discipline. Analysis software packages, e.g. STAAD, ANSYS and CAESAR II. Responsibilities Mechanical Steel Structure Cryogenic Tank Design Analysis and design of steel cryogenic tanks for the storage of Refrigerated Liquified Gasses (RLG). Support the business in projects, bids and RD activities Deliver state of the art and cost effective project results. Develop designs using in house and specialist software calculation tools such as FEA. Evaluation of seismic and environmental reports. Coordination with civil design team and other project disciplines. Check, review, approval of calculations, specifications, procedures ITP???s and engineering drawings. Assist with time estimations and scheduling for proposals. Check and verify calculations and analysis performed by others. Advise and assist with seismic design basis, SSI reports and interpretation of geotechnical requirements.
