Boatbuilder Apprentice

To be support to our senior carpenters in boat preparation and customisation. Working as an apprentice shipwright, using carpentry skills to customise luxury yachts to an owner’s specification. Support the retro fit team with retro preparation of boat prior to work being undertake. Finish and clean boat post work to the highest of standard prior to handover.  

Statutory regulations and safety requirements  Using and interpreting data and documentation  Working efficiently and effectively in marine engineering  Principles of boatbuilding technology  Composite manufacture for marine construction  Production of external boat components  Business studies unit 

Training:

All in house training will be received by qualified and experience staff within that area. You will also study the theory side of your apprenticeship one day per week through the means of taught sessions. 

Upon completion of your apprenticeship, you will receive a Level 3 Boatbuilder Apprenticeship Completion.

Functional skills in maths and English (if required).

The want to work within a busy environment and grow within the company may lead to a permanent position within the business for the right candidate.

Working Hours :
Shift Days (including college day): Monday - Friday Day Hours: 8 (exact working hours TBC) Weekly Hours: 40
