Aircraft Maintenance Apprentice

To learn, understand and assist in our daily engineering operation. Assist with ensuring our technically reliant aircraft are ready for dispatch from our terminal operations. Maintain all our aircraft to an approved maintenance schedule. Carry out routine servicing of all BA and customer aircraft. Ensure Health, Safety and Security standards are adhered to including completing of appropriate regulatory and company documentation. Being an ambassador for British Airways Apprenticeships by taking part in external and internal events and student engagement activity.

Training Outcome:

On completion of the apprentice the candidate will enter the business as an aircraft mechanic. Whilst continuing to gain experience towards their A Licence application. Once thy have achieved their A Licence they are eligible to apply for A Licence Technician. There is also the option to work towards their B Licence.

Working Hours :
Year 1 - Monday to Friday, Induction 09:00-17:00 (1 week), Engineering Induction 07:00-15:00 (4 weeks), Resource Group 08:30-16:15 (10 months). Year 2 and 3 - Heathrow, various shift patterns, 12 hours shifts (including night shifts) over 18s only.
