Early Years Educator Apprentice

The Apprentice will be trained in the education and care of children from birth to four years of age.

This will include learning:

How to care for the hygiene needs of children How to create a healthy and hygienic environment for children How to manage resources for babies How to manage resources for toddlers How to feed a baby How to support a toddler to feed themselves How to create inspiring activities and resources to provoke exploration, learning and preschool development

In addition to this the apprentice will learn valuable skills such as:

How to manage the strong emotions of a baby or toddler How to use reciprocity and containment to support the strong emotions of children How to carry out high quality observations of children’s behaviour and writing this up in a clear and concise manner How to use the information from observations to assess the stage of development and plan exciting next steps for children within the preschool curriculum guidelines, and lesson/task planning How to create beautiful wall displays through art work, examples of creations, educational resources

Training:

Working towards the skills, knolwledge and behaviours of the Level 3 Early Years Educator:

Early years educator / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification You will also be required to undertake the Paediatric first aid qualification as part of this Apprenticeship standard Monday is your College day release. Details will be made available at a later date. 

Training Outcome:
We would look to offer a full time position on completion of the apprenticeship and review of performance

Our approach is so successful that 92% of children are exceeding expectations right across the nursery. Following the Reggio approach, we have three beautiful settings for children of different ages. Our Infant and Toddler setting provides bespoke resources for children from birth to three years of age and our wonderful, separate Foundation Unit boasts forest school activities and access to an outdoor Art Studio. Our third building is a small independent school. This means that our apprentices have an opportunity to work and train under really well qualified and experience teachers and practitioners and have an opportunity to see children transitioning from nursery to Reception and beyond! As employers we care about our team, understanding that the role they play in the lives of our children is incredibly important. Therefore, we ensure that our team are rewarded for their work and effort. All staff are paid for their break, and we provide paid time for practitioners away from the children, to complete planning, administrative duties and room organisation. We provide in house and on the job training for all staff with three paid Professional Development days each year.

Working Hours :
Tuesday - Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm with a half hour paid lunch break. Monday is your College day release, for which you will be paid 8 hours.
