Speech and Language Therapist
An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Speech and Language Therapist to work in an exceptional mental health service based in the Chesterfield, Derbyshire area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers
This is a low secure unit for males with a learning disability, including those with co-morbid personality disorders, mental illnesses and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs)
**To be considered for this position you must have a degree in Speech & Language Therapy and registered with the HCPC**
As the Speech & Language Therapist your key responsibilities include:
Manage complex cases, cultural and linguistic differences, and to generate strategies To demonstrate specialist knowledge in communication and swallowing disorders To contribute to the assessment and information-gathering regarding service users’ mental capacity and ability to give informed consent with support from senior colleagues To assist service user's to maximise their independence in decision-making and communicating their wishes
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of Dysphagia Experience of working with families Evidence of continuing Professional Development Able to show a can-do attitude always Specialist clinical knowledge and experience in Adult Neuro-rehab
The successful Speech & Language Therapist will receive an excellent salary of £42,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard and dedication you will receive the following generous benefits:
