Nursery Apprentice Level 2 at Doodles Day Nursery

Purpose of Post

• To work under the direction of the Director, Manager and Deputy manager
• To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all the children in the nursery, through individual attention and group activities.
• To implement the daily routine in the room
• To support other members of staff in the nursery
• To provide high standards of childcare and education to include regular reviews of the provision.

Main Duties
• Carry out learning opportunities suitable for the age range of the children in your area in conjunction with other staff.
• To update children’s online learning journeys daily and complete reports and summary’s on children’s development.
• Support all staff and engage with the team
• Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
• To participate in monthly staff meetings.
• To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g cleaning of equipment.
• Be constantly aware of the needs of the children
• To respect the confidentiality of any information received
• Washing and changing children as and when required (Once DBS cleared)
• To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to up hold its standards at all times



Training:

Training is delivered in the workplace mainly on a 1:1 basis every four weeks. There are some workshop sessions offered in college on a monthly basis. If functional skills are required these are delivered by your trainer and in college classes. 

L2 Early years practitioner Apprenticeship Standard.



Training Outcome:

Progression onto level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship.



Employer Description:
We are a private day nursery that also run a holiday club for school aged children within the school holidays. We are located in Chorley, a short 5-minute walk from the town centre. We like to refer to ourselves as a small nursery that has a homely feel for all staff and children

Working Hours :
You will work shifts between the hours of 7:45am – 5:45pm, Monday to Friday. You will be expected to attend a staff meeting, the first Tuesday of every month, 6pm-8pm. Hours works to be 30-40 per week.
