School Administrator Apprentice

Based across our two sites, you will receive comprehensive training from our admin team and your apprenticeship provider. Additionally, you will be given dedicated study time and support to help you successfully complete your apprenticeship.

Your tasks will include:

Welcoming visitors and managing reception duties Ensure visitors sign in and follow procedures for safeguarding and risk assessments Producing a variety of documents using software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel etc. Using internal computer packages. Handling standard enquiries by telephone, email or in person from pupils, parents, staff, and the wider community Ensuring stationery stock levels are adequate Provide admin support for ‘back office’ projects Sending out communications via ParentMail Scheduling and organising appointments and meetings Supporting the preparation and coordination of school events Managing and updating school records and databases Assisting with filing, photocopying and other administrative tasks Supporting and upholding the implementation of school policies and procedures Collaborating with all staff to ensure a smooth daily operation of the school office

Employees will be expected to comply with any reasonable request from the Senior Leadership Team to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description.



Training:
Training will be provided while at work via teams with your educator from Heart Of England Training.

Training Outcome:
It is hoped a permanent position will be offered on successful completion of the apprenticeship programme however this is not guaranteed.

Castle Newnham is a school based in Bedfordshire. Castle Newnham is an all-through school in the heart of Bedford, offering high-quality education for pupils from Reception up to age 16.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.00pm. Term time only, 39 weeks plus 5 INSET days. 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
