Health & Safety Apprentice

You will learn about the legal framework for health and safety and help to apply this in practice at Longleat.

Duties will develop over time and will cover areas such as risk assessing guest attractions:

Providing manual handling training for team members Testing fire alarms Investigating incidents Analysing data to assess causes and formulate solutions

Training:

Training will be through online delivery with Bridgwater & Taunton College, as well as occasional face-to-face reviews where the assessor will come out to your site. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship and assessment you will receive a Level 3 certificate (equivalent to 3 ‘A’ levels) and also be able to join the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at TechIOSH level. 



Training Outcome:

If you wish to progress a career in health and safety this apprenticeship will provide you with a stepping stone towards achieving this (there may be a job opening in health and safety at Longleat at the end of the apprenticeship, however this is not guaranteed). If your career path subsequently takes you in a different direction, then the knowledge, skills and qualification you gain from the apprenticeship will strengthen your CV for supervisory and managerial roles in the future.

Working Hours :
This apprenticeship role is for 40 hours per week, over 7 days, typically Monday to Friday, working hours TBC
