Apprentice Teaching Assistant
Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
Assist with the development and implementation of education healthcare plan outcomes, Support Plans, Individual Education Plans and Personal Care programmes
Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher
Training:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
Furness College Wednesday evening in college 4pm-7pm term time only
Functional skills in maths and English (if required)
Training Outcome:
Teaching Assistant upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
32.5 hours per week, term-time only plus 1 week INSET. Standard working pattern 08.40 – 15.40 Monday - Friday, Wednesday evening in college 4pm - 7pm term time only. NMW rate for an apprentice £6.40 p/h during first year.
