Property Maintenance Operative Apprentice

Your Duties will include: 

Maintenance of school premises, grounds, and sports facilities The use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery To keep borders, thoroughfares, and footpaths clear and free from litter  Prepare plant beds when required Renewing light bulbs and fluorescent fittings and cleaning fittings  Carry out daily litter collection duties and emergency cleaning duties arising during the working day Take delivery of school supplies and distribute them as necessary Assist with manual tasks as required including the moving and setting up of furniture for school functions Ensuring that Health and Safety regulations are always adhered to Assist with closing the premises at the end of the day Perform maintenance and repairs to plumbing systems, including fault identification, safe isolation of supply, replacing components and clearing blockages Perform maintenance and repairs to external drainage systems, including clearing blockages and replacing components Use carpentry and joinery skills to perform repairs to windows, doors and glazing units, and their associated fittings Perform repairs to plastered surfaces, including surface preparation, fixing and mixing materials and compounds Use painting and decorating skills to prepare surfaces for decoration. Perform tiling repairs, including setting out Perform flooring repairs 

Training:
Apprenticeship Standard in Level 2 Property Maintenance 1 day per week in college

Training Outcome:
Potential position upon completion of the Apprenticeship

Employer Description:
The High School Leckhampton is an 11-16 comprehensive school which opened its doors in September 2021. The school was commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council to cater for an expansion in pupil numbers at secondary level in the south Cheltenham area. The school has been sponsored and developed by The Balcarras Trust who have been centrally involved in all aspects of the new school's development since 2018. The school opened to Year 7 pupils in September 2021 when it was temporarily located at Balcarras School. In September 2022,  The High School Leckhampton moved to our permanent home on Farm Lane, where the school welcomed a new cohort of Year 7 pupils. Eventually, there we be 900 pupils. The Farm Lane site is located on the southern edge of Cheltenham, just over 2 miles from Balcarras School. The school occupies an idyllic setting, a stone's throw from the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and nestled below Devil's Chimney. It is a superb place for a school site.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday: 8am to 4pm (breaks to be confirmed).
