Fabrication Apprentice

Day to Day Duties

Tig weld stainless steel box section between 0.9mm - 2mm to form products ie stands, tables, sinks and frames that are mainly for the hospitality industry. This may include the welding of sheet metal components from 0.9mm - 2mm. Use of various hand and air tools. Ability to read and work from detailed fabrication drawings. Capable of working to demanding deadlines. Use air hand tools to smooth and clean welds on products for finished end results. Take pride in their work and ability to work as a team along with own initiative. Maintain a clean working area and follow Health and Safety policy and procedures.

Training:
Welder Level 2 training takes place in the PTP Walsall Training Centre. Essex Terrace, In-Town, Walsall, West Midlands, WS1 1SQ One day every fortnight Relevant workplace training Functional skills if necessary

Training Outcome:

Permanent job available following apprenticeship depending on candidates’ punctuality and work ethics. You will be required to continue to learn on the job which can progress up the career ladder within the fabrication department.

Working Hours :
Monday – Thursday, 07:30 - 16:30. Friday, 07:30 - 14:00. Overtime available when business requires.
