Chinese Pastry Chef - China - $2800 net/monthly
About the Role:
As our Chinese Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the Chinese pastry kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, authenticity, and presentation. You will lead a team of pastry professionals, supervise dessert preparation, and contribute to menu development.
Key Responsibilities:
• General supervision of the Chinese pastry kitchen and Chinese desserts served in Banquet functions
• Oversee preparation and maintenance of recipe cards to control quality of produced products
• Develop and implement new dessert menu items
• Train and mentor pastry kitchen staff
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Manage inventory and control costs
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years' experience as Chinese Pastry Chef in 4-star hotels or above in P.R. China
• Recommendation letter signed and stamped from previous employer(s)
• National Vocational Qualification Level 1 issued in mainland China
• Culinary certificate or qualifications in pastry arts
• Ability to communicate in English (at least verbal)
• Extensive knowledge of Chinese pastries, desserts, and baking techniques
• Strong leadership and team management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Overseas experience in an international 4-star hotel
• Additional language skills
