Devon County Council is seeking a Family Intervention Practitioner to join their team. This is a family-facing role, so flexibility and the ability to visit families in their homes is essential. The position requires attendance at the office 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct, intensive support to a mixed caseload of children, their families, and carers, working alongside other professionals to deliver practical interventions that help children remain safely at home or in other suitable accommodation. Work with families in crisis, applying a short-term intensive intervention model, with some cases requiring longer-term support. Assess, monitor, and manage risks to and from children and young people, ensuring that any concerns are escalated appropriately. Engage with the whole family, including absent parents and extended family members, to ensure comprehensive support.

Requirements:

Proven experience working with challenging and resistant families in various settings. Experience supporting children and young people, including those exhibiting challenging behaviours. Relevant qualification in Health, Social Work, Education, Youth Work, or a related field (Level 3 or higher). A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

If you're looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and rewarding role, we encourage you to apply.
