Civil Engineering Apprentice - Flood Risk and Drainage

Assist the Flood Risk & Drainage Team (FRDT) Manager in solving problems and managing complex cases, applying discretion and judgement in relation to the policy guidelines. Assist the FRDT Manager to manage customer issues effectively, providing excellent customer care and delivering improved outcomes for customers, communities and clients. Assist the FRDT Manager in the investigating of flooding events within the borough and the development of solutions to minimize flood risk. Assist the FRDT Manager with the development and maintenance of an accurate record of drainage assets for which WBC is responsible. Apply yourself fully to the apprenticeship program to develop your technical knowledge and skills in parallel with your practical experience in the role.

Training:
One day a week will be spent on academic studies at the University of West London between 9am and 6pm.  

Training Outcome:

This is an exciting opportunity to study, working towards the completion of an BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering degree. During this 5-year apprenticeship you will be trained in all aspects of the team’s work, including investigation, and surveying existing drainage infrastructure, designing improvements to highway drainage, flood alleviation schemes and hydraulic modelling of drainage.
