Childcare apprentice

The candidate will have to be flexible in relation to working with the different age ranges dependant on demand.

• To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
• To help to set up the rooms and activities for the children daily.
• To act as a key person to a group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.
• Meeting deadlines for assessments and providing parents with regular updates of their children journey .

Qualifications & Skills:
• Previous experience of working with young children.
• Gain good knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Gain knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Good communication skills
• Commitment to equal opportunities

• Friendly and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective relationships
• Willingness to provide cover in the absence of co-workers and be flexible with working arrangements according to the needs of the setting
• Ability to support and encourage assistants and unqualified staff by being a positive role model in the setting.

Training:
Level 2 early years practitioner apprenticeship. Functional skills if required.

Training Outcome:

Possible proggresion onto the level 3 Early years educator apprenticeship.

Employer Description:
Small home from home nursery located in Pemberton, Wigan. Education and care provided from 6months to 4 years.

Working Hours :
40 hours per week within the working hours of 8-5 Monday to Friday
