ESOL Administrator Apprentice

The ESOL team is a dedicated and extremely hard-working team, always striving for excellence. They provide our students with a well-rounded English language learning experience. The holistic offer delivered by the academy enables our students to progress with their English proficiency skills across all levels, access Further or Higher Education, improve employment prospects and supports them with their integration into life in the United Kingdom. At all times we adopt a professional manner and create an environment where the academic progress of our students is our primary concern. 

Their main role will be to assist the administration coordinator with the efficient running of the administrative processes within the academy It is a client-facing role which will include all aspects of day-to-day student services There will also be a supervisory element developed into the role as the apprentice will help oversee the recruitment and initial assessment process for prospective students We would expect our apprentice to understand the need to have a professional distance from the Derby College students and an awareness of safeguarding responsibilities. They would also be expected to be confident enough to enforce the academy and college rules and ensure that current and prospective students are received in a safe and risk-free environment The apprentice will learn to use various Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel etc.

Training:

The apprenticeship will be delivered in the workplace and on-site at Derby College facilities. 



Training Outcome:

At the end of the apprenticeship, should the applicant have proved themselves to be an asset to the team, there could well be a possibility to join the ESOL team as an additional administrator team member.  Should a vacancy not be available, the candidate would be excellently prepared to follow this route at another establishment.



Employer Description:
Derby College ESOL academy is a very busy, forward-thinking department with many opportunities for an apprentice to develop relevant skills. The team are ambitious and proud of their achievements and work environment and would expect the apprentice to strive to develop a similar outlook. Our provision caters for over 600 students across the city, primarily at the St James Centre but also at the DCG Roundhouse and Ilkeston campuses, as well as in community settings at FeeCafe, Arboretum Park and Community Enterprise Centre in Sinfin.

Working Hours :
You will work 5 days a week on various flexible shift patterns between 8.30am - 7.30pm. Shifts will be 7.4 hours, with an evening shift once a week alternating Tuesday and Wednesday, and 30 minutes for lunch.
