Support students and the teacher in the classroom Various administrative duties to support the school and teachers including photocopying Ensure students are fully engaged in the classroom activities by providing support to lower ability students Supervision of students during breaks in the school day

Training:

This is a Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification (A Level Standard) which is delivered in conjunction with ESFA rules, by West London College at our Hammersmith & Fulham campus, located in Barons Court, West London.

You will attend college one day a week (day and start date to be defined) from September 2024 and complete 18 months of study to achieve this qualification. 

The course will consist of one day per week in college (theory) and four days per week practical experience at the Advance Education Centre. 

The first 15 months of this qualification will require the successful candidate to gather a portfolio of evidence, which is presented to an independent adjudicator called an End Point Assessment. This is a pass/fail. 

The successful student will be required to either have GCSE maths and English Grade C/4 or achieve these grades before completion of the course through Functional Skills to Level 2, if required   



Training Outcome:

Whilst a permanent position cannot be guaranteed, you have an opportunity here to make an impression and, if you do well, there is every likelihood that a full-time role will be available in 18 months' time or, a strong recommendation/reference, which you can use, along with the experience and qualification gained, to find a school who does have a full-time opportunity.
