Apprentice Nursery Assistant

To work as part of a team, showing care and respect for other staff members and generally giving a clear model of behaviour for the children.

To set out and clear away activities and equipment efficiently.

To be aware of the needs for the security of the children at all times, including ensuring that doors are kept locked.

To listen to and talk with the children in a positive way and to respect them as unique individuals.

To interact with the children and staff.

To encourage the children to use language.

To help the children acquire skills, showing knowledge of each other's individual level of development. To only intervene when necessary, whilst working with the children so that they can learn at their own pace.

To consistently reinforce the pre-school's clear rules regarding behaviour using redirection, anticipation and removal of potential problems and positive reinforcement and encouragement

To help key worker with key work activities

To ensure that privacy of information is recognised at all times and confidentiality is respected.

To uphold the policy of equal opportunities at all times.



Training:

Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship level 2.

Training schedule has yet to be agreed. Details will be made available at a later date.



Training Outcome:

Possible opportunity of a permanent position or higher qualifications at the end of successfully completing the apprenticeship.
