Apprentice Plumber

Plumbing installation and maintenance work for a variety of customers both in the private and public sector, under supervision Installing hot and cold water systems Bathroom refurbishments All aspects of general plumbing and heating

Training:

Successful apprentices will complete the Level 3 Plumbing & Heating Technician Apprenticeship Standard. The grades available are Pass or Distinction once the End Point Assessment has been completed.

Day-release will be from the Eastbourne campus or the college’s Construction Centre in St Leonards once a week, term time only.

6 hours of your working week will be spent on training, which you must log. Training is anything where you are learning skills relevant to the job. For instance, working on your portfolio, mock assessments, revision, being mentored, shadowing other members of staff, in-house training, day-release to college, meetings with your assessor and so on.

If you don't hold a maths and English qualification at Level 2, you will have to complete maths and English Functional Skills at Level 2 alongside the apprenticeship. You won't be able to complete the apprenticeship until you have these qualifications.



Training Outcome:

Potential permanent full-time employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
