Adoption Social Worker

A not for profit Fostering Charity is looking for an Adoption Social Worker based in Reading.

You will be recruiting and assessing foster carers in and around the Reading area.

This is a full-time and permanent position, possibility of part time.
The core function is to manage the whole adoption process from initial interview through to assessment and then matching and placing children and providing generic post placement support.
You will need to have a background within a Fostering or Adoption Team as a Social Worker.

Ideally, within an Independent Organisation or Charity.

Your responsibilities as the Adoption Social Worker:

To safeguard and protect vulnerable adults and children in accordance with Policies and Procedures at all times
To take part in recruitment activities for prospective adopters for example information evenings, drop-in events
To undertake initial interviews
Develop, coordinate and deliver training to potential and approved families at all stages of their adoption journey

Requirements of you as the Adoption Social Worker:

A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
A valid Social Work England Registration
Experience of working within Fostering or Adoption
Demonstrable post qualification experience in child’s social care
An understanding of child development and the impact on behaviour of interrupted development

Location: Reading
Salary: up to £37,200
