Mental Health Nurse Enhanced Clinical Practitioner Apprenticeship
Carry out advanced biopsychosocial assessments for patients, with a focus on ADHD, autism, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Develop and implement evidence-based care plans, including prescribing and monitoring medication (where qualified).
Provide therapeutic interventions and support patients and families through shared decision-making.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing clinical expertise in case discussions and service development.
Supervise, mentor, and support junior colleagues and students in practice.
Participate in research, audit, and quality improvement projects to improve mental health and neurodiversity services.

Enhanced Practice Roles
After completing the apprenticeship, you will be recognised as a highly skilled practitioner able to work more autonomously in specialist mental health settings (e.g., neurodiversity clinics, acute wards, community teams).
Advanced Clinical Practice
Many apprentices move into Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) roles, often at Band 7/8a in the NHS, where they take on responsibilities such as complex caseload management, prescribing, clinical supervision, and service development.
