Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Participate in dispensing individual prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients, including clinical trials and controlled drugs, meeting legal and ethical requirements and department standards Develop knowledge and skills of patient counselling to meet required competencies for this activity by the end of the training period Complete a portfolio by gathering evidence in the workplace ensuring all criteria and standards are met Develop the skills to check the accuracy of medicines dispensed by other members of staff so that the dispensary error rate is kept low and that prescriptions are dispensed within departmental time standards

Training:
You will need to complete the following qualifications to achieve the full standard Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Level 3. https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/pharmacy-technician-integrated-v1-0 You will need to attend college in Nottingham City Centre once a week for training once the next day release group for Pharmacy Technicians is planned to commence from 8th February 2024.

Training Outcome:

Career opportunities following qualification and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (the regulatory body for Pharmacy) include medicines management roles, aseptic preparation, staff training, clinical trials, procurement, and many more.

You will have the opportunity for a fabulous career with salaries ranging from £21,089 on qualifying to a possible £43,722 as your career progresses.

Working Hours :
Exact days and shifts to be confirmed by the employer - includes one late session till 7pm and weekend as per departmental rota.
