Apprentice Laboratory Technician

Preparation of materials and equipment for science practical work, cleaning, storing and disposal upon completion. Preparing solutions, assembling apparatus, delivering equipment and materials to science laboratories as requested. Collecting materials and equipment from laboratories after use, checking and safe storage. Disposal of used or unwanted materials in a safe manner in accordance with all applicable legislation. Completing basic repairs to laboratory equipment or arranging for repairs to be carried out by qualified and experienced external suppliers when required. Ensuring all laboratory equipment is in a good state of repair, checked regularly and stored safely in accordance with requirements. Constructing or modifying equipment under the direction of science teaching staff to meet with the trialling of new practical science activities to meet curricular requirements. Assisting science teachers in the classroom in delivering practical activities.

Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 4.00pm.
