SEND Learning Support Apprentice

As a SEND Learning Support Apprentice, you will receive practical experience in how to support students with special educational needs within both the classroom, small group and 1:1 provision as well working with parents, external agencies and academy stakeholders.

Responsibilities for this post:

Work under guidance in partnership with teachers and other professionals to provide effective support for learning activities, tailoring support to the needs of the students if necessary Support planning and delivery of the curriculum for students Support the planning, preparation, maintenance and evaluation of learning activities and environment, identify areas of improvement and new developments as necessary Assist with the development of core literacy and numeracy skills Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of records of students and their performance such as: SEND Support Plans, intervention overviews and tracking sheets Deliver small group intervention sessions focusing on specific SEND areas of need to support personal development Work with small groups of students and individuals both within the classroom and during withdrawal and intervention groups Provide additional support to students who need it Assist with the invigilation of internal and external tests and examinations under formal conditions Accompany and supervise students on trips and visits as appropriate

Training:
On the job training to be provided by the employer Bishop Auckland College will provide training and support, working with the employer to help provide the apprenticeship standard (Teaching Assistant Level 3) and associated qualifications You will be required to attend Bishop Auckland College for day release

Staindrop Academy is part of Advance Learning Partnership providing education for children aged 11-16 years old.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm. The role is term time only.
