Apprentice Process Technician

Key areas of accountability/responsibility

Shadowing Process Operations staff and/or Team leaders during the daily activities on plant and in the control room (Spray dry area) On the instructions of the team leader, performing specific tasks in the event of process deviations Assist with and carry out required manual field operations as per Job Safety Analysis Guidance Operate plant as per SOP’s, JSA’s, checklist’s, etc. Conduct all work following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Conduct all work in final packing areas with all standards outlined in the site Quality and Hygiene and Food Safety Policies Assist with solving and documenting routine and non-routine problems relating to process, equipment, environment, quality or safety Report any abnormal findings, measures taken in non-routine situations and deviations to the relevant production personnel along with area supervision and Team leaders Assist with communicating to local supervision and relevant team members any production issues that may impact production up or downstream of their area of responsibility Performing specific tasks on the instructions of the local production supervision in the event of an unforeseen situation

Performing various subsidiary activities:

Taking an active part in shift briefing meetings such Toolbox talks etc.  Assist with documenting and recording process data, problems, and actions taken in hand-over documentation or other specified records Accessing and using PC-based information and tools, (e.g. Checklists, email, electronic logs) Ensuring good housekeeping aligned to 5S standards Log production data on SAP software Actively participating in change/improvement projects for production Participate in the development and validation of new procedures, SOPs, checklists and training documentation, etc.

Implement SHE policy, including:

Responsible for ensuring that they achieve and maintain the required compliance with the local, company and regulatory rules regarding safety, occupational health and environment Ensuring safety procedures are followed and that housekeeping duties are audited Working according to SHE guidelines and ensuring that others in their area work safely Proactively participate in all site safety initiatives and programs Assist in improving site safety performance through active involvement with the site near-miss incident program Ensuring safe process management and safe performance of operational and maintenance work

Potential permanent position upon completion of the apprenticeship
