ICT Support Apprentice

Login and support processing tickets Install and uninstall required software Install / reinstall operating systems to machines To troubleshoot classroom technical problems To ensure that all curriculum hardware is maintained and stored in an appropriate manner To clean and change hardware components within laptops / desktop computers To keep audits up to date with changes Maintenance of all ICT equipment, as directed To have regard for the welfare of pupils always To actively assist with the implementation of the schools aims and policies To take an active part in the performance management process To carry out your duties, responsibilities and rights as laid out in your Contract of Employment

Training:

Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard.

The apprentice will complete training tutorials on basic, intermediate, and advanced IT skills. Providing a baseline foundation for their job role. Training is tailored to IT the support role described in the job specification. This involves building upon existing IT skills and applying them to daily tasks at work.

The apprentice will undertake one day a week training on the course and will have monthly sessions with the training provider. This can be completed at either the workplace or the training provider's premises. The apprentice will study towards and achieve the following awards at the end of the apprenticeship:

Core Components:

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals BTEC Level 3 Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles Information Communications Technician Personal Attributes and Behaviours End-Point Assessment (EPA) - Information Communications Technician

Subject to Prior Attainment:

Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at Level 2

Training Outcome:
Upon completion of the apprenticeship there is the opportunity for a permanent position within the IT team.
