Early Years Apprentice

The successful applicant will work as part of a team within the nursery and will undertake a range of tasks such as:

Provide support in the classroom to individuals/groups of pupils as directed by the class teacher Follow and implement the school's behaviour policy and any related policies and procedures Provide support for learning in the classroom as directed by the class teacher and help maintain the order and cleanliness of the classroom environment e,g putting up displays and tidying resources Assist in the supervision of children during the working day, on/off site including for example school visits Assist in classroom preparation Under the direction of the class teacher develop and maintain supportive relationships with parents, carers and other professionals Contribute to the care, health and welfare of pupils in accordance with the relevant school policies Keep records and provide feedback to teaching and other staff on pupils' behaviour and progress Maintain and respect confidentiality Training to support children's learning both inside and outside classrooms Undertake key working, including tracking children and identifying next steps

Luton Adult Learning - 2nd Floor, Arndale House, The Point, Luton, LU1 2LJ Training days will be every Wednesday

The RICHER Federation of Nursery Schools are maintained, resourced based, nursery schools. Gill Blowers Nursery School is split over two sites, one based in March Farm (Leabank site) and one in Hockwell Ring (Mossdale site) and Pastures Way Nursery School is based in Lewsey Farm. Our curriculum is based on exploration, experiences and investigation through play. Children are encouraged to follow their own ideas with real, natural resources and loose parts. Practitioners use a blend of teaching and scaffolding to encourage children to broaden, stretch and embed their learning. Children are supported to question, explore, experiment, develop hypotheses and test ideas, and reflect their learning. During a session we use a combination of adult led and child initiated teaching running parallel.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm. Wednesday evenings will be required at times for training and supporting the team.
