GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Kettle Operator is responsible for processing Tremco Sealants and/or Roofing products by carefully reading and following the process order card. The operator is responsible for area readiness to produce which includes safety and collection and preparation of materials like pails, drums, and other chemical raw materials. One batch is complete the operator will test for quality, adjust as needed to assure specification is met by following written standard operating procedures, and then fill product into specified packaging and palletize pails or drums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines using control boards, Human Machine Interface (HMI computer touch screen) or semi-automatic equipment. Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and ensure that standards are met. Use appropriate scales or measurement devices to add materials to the kettle as specified by batch process orders. Must be able to read and understand recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify the conformity of process conditions. Monitor control settings and make necessary adjustments on equipment. Accurately record production and downtime via written documentation.

Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain facility electrical systems (e.g. programmable logic controllers, human machine interfaces, lighting) and components (e.g. sensors, switches, valves)
Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain facility mechanical systems (e.g. product vessels/reactors, pumps) and components (e.g. piping, manual valves)
Investigate equipment/process failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation
Assist Maintenance Supervisor to arrange and coordinate contractor tasks (including equipment rental) to support facility and process maintenance/repairs
Serve, as needed, on process hazard analysis (PHA) teams/sessions

EDUCATION:

Essential Functions:
Presents and promotes Stonhard/Liquid Elements products and services to architectural, design and engineering firms with a specific geographic region.
Works with Design Build construction firms.
Maintains accurate files and records involving Stonhard accounts by executing necessary paperwork such as maintaining a Salesforce Automation (SFA) database with projects and activities associated with that project and/or account.

Essential Responsibilities
Quality Testing & Inspection
Perform routine physical, chemical, and instrumental testing of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products.
Perform color evaluations and comparisons using appropriate laboratory methods and instrumentation.
Conduct testing such as viscosity, pH, solids, density, grind, particle size, moisture, strength, tint, color, and other applicable product characteristics.
Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments according to established procedures.
Production & In-Process Support
Communicate test results to Production and Quality personnel in a timely manner.
Assist Production with troubleshooting quality issues and identifying potential causes of product variation.
Support batch adjustments and rework activities when directed by Quality or Production leadership.
Place material on hold when test results do not meet established specifications and escalate issues appropriately.
Support investigations of nonconforming materials and products.
Documentation & Data Management
Accurately record laboratory test results in the appropriate laboratory, quality, or ERP systems.
Support preparation of quality reports, certificates of analysis, and other quality documentation as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of customer and product information.
Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Properly handle, label, store, and dispose of chemicals and laboratory materials.
Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Major Responsibilities:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and/or related experience or training in optical microscopy and mineralogy • Experience in optical microscopy, especially with the use and interpretation of resultsfrom staining and other practical techniques used with the petrographic microscope and stereoscopic microscope as applied to concrete petrography, thin section preparation and examination and interpretation, clinker microscopy and cement microscopy.• Experience in photomicrography required for sample log-in and inclusion as required in reports of examination.• Prior experience in use and interpretation of X-Ray Powder Diffractometry for inclusion in reports of examination of concrete, concrete materials, and cements.• Experience with Technical Service, Quality Control and Product Development problems in concrete and construction products.

Position Summary
The Roofing Operator can work in our Felt Department or in our Roofing Department at our Cleveland, Ohio Plant. To start, this is a temporary position which can lead to a regular position after successfully completing a probationary period. They start-up, troubleshoot, and operate manufacturing and production equipment safely and routinely while achieving or exceeding standard levels of production, according to specifications. This position can turn into a regular union position if the employee completes the probationary period, successfully. During the probationary period, this position will be on 1st Shift. If the employee successfully completes the probationary period and becomes a regular employee, the position will most likely change to 2nd or 3rd shift, depending on Plant needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs work in a safe manner, according to safety rules and guidelines
Communicates with Team Lead and/or Supervisor during shift-changes and throughout shift
Understands and operates the HMI at the various stations along the line, to keep the line operating safely and efficiently
Monitors weight, speed, and other metrics along the line
Operates forklift to move raw materials, load carrier and move finished product
Makes raw material batches in the appropriate mixer(s), according to specifications
Performs quality control tests on the batches, per established guidelines
Ensures proper labels are being used on the taping machine
Fills appropriate-sized pails, drums or totes, labels filled-items and places pails/drums on pallet
Follows Tremco's Escalation Policy for any safety or quality concerns
Performs daily housekeeping/cleaning of immediate area and other surrounding areas, as needed
During line down-time, performs housekeeping duties in immediate area, other areas of the plant or assist in other departments

This role is responsible for driving product lifecycle management, market positioning, and profitability of plasticizers, superplasticizers, accelerators, retarders, air-entraining agents, water reducers, and specialty admixtures used in ready-mix, precast, and infrastructure applications. The successful candidate will serve as the primary interface between R&D, technical service, sales, marketing, and customers to deliver high-performance, value-added solutions that meet evolving construction industry demands. The Admixture Product Manager is expected to demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to providing industry-leading service and support to internal and external Euclid Chemical customers. They should also be dedicated to personal growth in product knowledge and industry experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Marketing or a closely related field • 5+ years of progressive experience in product management, technical sales, or application development within construction chemicals, concrete admixtures, or related specialty chemicals.• Solid understanding of concrete technology, mix design principles, and the functional chemistry of admixtures (polycarboxylate ethers, lignosulfonates, etc.).• Proven track record of successfully launching or managing industrial chemical products and driving revenue growth.• Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, value selling, and competitive positioning.• Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.• Willingness to travel (approximately 15-30%) to customer sites, plants, and industry events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Direct experience with ready-mix or precast concrete producers.• Knowledge of sustainability trends (CO₂ reduction, recycled materials, low-clinker cements) and how admixtures support them.• Understanding of the use of concrete admixtures, fiber reinforcement, testing of materials and/or concrete technology is desired.
