GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Engineer's role is viewed as an extension of management. Responsibilities are broad and include safety, product quality, process control, productivity improvement, and development of a LEAN culture. The Engineer is expected to spend a significant amount of time on the floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety Assume a leadership position at the facility in partnership with the shift supervisors. Activities include resolution and communication regarding safety issues. Execute on scheduled PHA's and JSA's. Proactively monitor area and remediate potential safety issues. Use DAKOTA software as a tool for compliance and environmental, health and safety. Use the tool to report incidents, near misses, and non-conformances.
LEAN Culture Develop and execute upon "standard work" activities. Assume responsibility for assigned activities on the Engineering Tier and other accountability boards. Conduct "GEMBA Walks" daily. Use walks as the primary means of education and communication of expectations. Improve productivity through elimination of non-value-added activities. Apply Engineering principles and methodologies to Improve productivity and eliminate waste.
Product Quality Work to maximize equipment efficiency and quality for output. Member of the facility QIC. Ensure identification of root cause and subsequent prevention of future customer complaints. Assist in the training of operators with a focus on quality critical product specifications and process parameters. Capable of equipment troubleshooting and process design.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from four or 5-year college or university. B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Controls Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
Six months to one year related experience and/or training. Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET Accredited university. Relevant experience from internship is acceptable for experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Kettle Operator is responsible for processing Tremco Sealants and/or Roofing products by carefully reading and following the process order card. The operator is responsible for area readiness to produce which includes safety and collection and preparation of materials like pails, drums, and other chemical raw materials. One batch is complete the operator will test for quality, adjust as needed to assure specification is met by following written standard operating procedures, and then fill product into specified packaging and palletize pails or drums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines using control boards, Human Machine Interface (HMI computer touch screen) or semi-automatic equipment. Draw samples of products, and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and ensure that standards are met. Use appropriate scales or measurement devices to add materials to the kettle as specified by batch process orders. Must be able to read and understand recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators to verify the conformity of process conditions. Monitor control settings and make necessary adjustments on equipment. Accurately record production and downtime via written documentation.
EXPERIENCE: No prior experience is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Basic Computer Skills required (Windows Familiarity). Lean and VFM (Visual Factory Management) skills and/or willingness to train. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Responsibilities:

Deliver customer support through industrial trials, mill audits, special projects, data analysis, and detailed reporting to retain existing customers and attract new ones Compile and analyze industrial trial process data, and prepare detailed reports providing conclusions and action items from industrial trial runs. Keep thorough and updated records of activity history with active and potential cement additive customers. Design and execution of plant industrial trials and mill audits. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical or mechanical) or chemistry - master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cement manufacturing process control or quality management.
Skills and Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge and understanding of cement manufacturing, cement chemistry, and raw and finish mill circuit operation. Basic understanding of cement additives chemistries. Ability to interpret lab outputs (e.g., XRD, clinker microscopy, isothermal calorimetry, and physical test results) to develop customer-specific strategies and product recommendations. Proficiency with cement standards (ASTM, CSA, etc.). Strong knowledge of milling equipment, particle classifiers, circuit configurations, and pyro processes for optimizing clinker performance. Advanced knowledge of MS Office computer software: Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Basic knowledge of MS Outlook, Teams, Edge Internet Browser. Knowledge of industry trends, including low clinker content cement production and co-grinding with alternative materials. Data analysis and report writing skills. The ability to design and execute plant industrial trials and mill audits.
Travel:
