The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of process and facility-related equipment. Equipment inspection includes preventative maintenance (PM) and associated documentation.

Comply with all safety policies (especially Cardinal Rules - e.g. Hot Work, LOTO, Confined Space),
Partner with Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager to support LEAN initiatives to eliminate unplanned production interruptions due to process equipment failure,
Implement the needed preventative measures, including optimization of PM program,
Ensure reliable operation of facility support processes and utilities (i.e. HVAC, Steam Boilers, Air Compressors, Tow motors, Cooling Towers, Hot Oil Heaters),
Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain facility electrical systems (e.g. programmable logic controllers, human machine interfaces, lighting) and components (e.g. sensors, switches, valves),
Diagnose/Troubleshoot, repair/replace and maintain facility mechanical systems (e.g. product vessels/reactors, pumps) and components (e.g. piping, manual valves),
Investigate equipment/process failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation,
Assist Maintenance Supervisor to arrange and coordinate contractor tasks (including equipment rental) to support facility and process maintenance/repairs,
Serve, as needed, on process hazard analysis (PHA) teams/sessions

Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of air conditioning systems, including VRV/VRF, split systems, AHUs and FCUs.Diagnose complex faults and carry out repairs to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.Act as a senior technical point of contact for AC engineering across the contract.Support, mentor and upskill AC engineers across the wider contract, sharing technical knowledge and best working practices.Assist engineers with complex fault finding and technical issues where required.Help maintain consistent engineering standards across multiple sites within the M25.Identify training and development requirements within the AC engineering team.Perform routine inspections, filter changes, coil cleaning and system testing.Ensure all work is completed in line with F-Gas regulations and industry standards.Respond promptly to reactive maintenance calls across the contract.Complete maintenance reports and job sheets accurately using the company's systems.Liaise with clients, management and engineering teams to ensure high service levels are maintained.Identify plant improvements and provide recommendations where appropriate.Take ownership of your workload while supporting the wider engineering operation.PackageSalary: Up to £55,000 per annumMonday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pmCompany van & fuel card provided25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysOvertime availableOngoing training and developmentGenuine career progressionUniform, tools and PPE providedM25-wide commercial contractRequirements10 years' experience within the Air Conditioning industryValid F-Gas CertificationRelevant NVQ / City & Guilds qualification in Air Conditioning or RefrigerationStrong experience within the HVAC / Building Services / Facilities Management sectorExtensive working knowledge of VRV/VRF systems, split systems, AHUs, FCUs and associated plantProven ability to mentor, coach and upskill other AC engineersStrong technical fault-finding and problem-solving abilityFull UK Driving LicenceExcellent communication and client-facing skillsAbility to work independently while managing your own workload effectivelyWillingness to travel across commercial sites within the M25THIS IS A GENUINE STEP-UP OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED AC ENGINEER LOOKING TO TAKE ON A MORE SENIOR TECHNICAL AND MENTORING ROLE.....Read more...
