IT Programme Manager – London (Hybrid)

Well-established and highly profitable engineering business is seeking an experienced IT Programme Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This is a high-profile leadership role within an organisation undergoing significant digital transformation, with ambitious growth and acquisition plans driving a large portfolio of technology change. Following a number of recent acquisitions, the organisation has an ambitious growth strategy with plans to acquire 8–10 businesses per year.
Reporting to the Head of IT PMO, you will be responsible for delivering multiple complex programmes across IT, Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, Enterprise Applications and Business Change. Working closely with Executive Leadership, IT teams and third-party suppliers, you'll ensure strategic programmes are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with business objectives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager who enjoys leading large-scale technology change, managing senior stakeholders and delivering tangible business outcomes across a complex enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead multiple complex IT and business transformation programmes across Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Cloud and Enterprise Applications
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and workstreams, ensuring effective governance, risk management and successful delivery
• Develop and maintain programme roadmaps, budgets, resource plans and delivery schedules
• Deliver strategic initiatives including cloud transformation, AI adoption, infrastructure modernisation and enterprise application programmes
• Lead cyber security initiatives including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and resilience programmes
• Oversee major application projects including ERP, HR, CRM, Service Management and systems integration
• Manage third-party suppliers, implementation partners and outsourced service providers
• Ensure programme governance, reporting, financial control and benefits realisation across all workstreams
• Present programme updates, risks and investment proposals to Executive Leadership and Steering Committees
• Build strong relationships across business and technology teams, influencing senior stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
• Provide leadership and mentoring to Project Managers, Business Analysts and project teams
• Champion programme management best practice and support the ongoing development of the IT PMO
Requirements:
• Significant experience delivering large-scale IT and business transformation programmes
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and workstreams within complex organisations
• Strong background delivering infrastructure, cloud, cyber security and enterprise application programmes
• Experience managing third-party suppliers, systems integrators and external delivery partners
• Excellent programme governance, financial management and risk management skills
• Experience presenting to Executive Leadership, Steering Committees and Board-level stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience leading cross-functional teams within matrix organisations
• Ability to manage programme budgets exceeding £1m
• MSP, PgMP or equivalent Programme Management qualification
• PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent Project Management qualification
Initially 4 days per week onsite in Central London, reducing to 3 days per week after successful completion of probation.
