We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor / Vehicle Accident Damage Estimator to join an established Accident Repair Centre in the Cannock area.
Key role and responsibilities as an Estimator / Vehicle Damage Assessor:
- You will undertake the inspection of accident damaged vehicles, assessing the full extent of the damage, costs of repair and time frames.
- You will ensure our work providers menu pricing schedules and repair methodologies and key information for each contract is being adhered too on each job.
- You will work within our guidelines to ensure that the workflow volume meets targets.
- Use computerised estimating systems.
- Liaise regularly with insurance and accident management companies with any updates or queries relating to relevant jobs.

To work closely with an experienced Estimator learning the processes, systems and methods that form the basis of good Estimating technique.
Duties & Responsibilities:
To assist in the preparation of selected elements of the complete commercial and pricing element of a tender or cost plan
To undertake a range of clerical and administrative duties within a department to ensure its smooth running
To process documents received from a range of sources in line with department standards and requirements
To identify and undertake initial investigations into any discrepancies regarding information to be processed, possibly involving document control
To collate and extract data from a number of sources in order to produce documents
To file documents and keep filing systems up to date so that information can be readily obtained
To assist in the data input of selected elements of subcontractor quotations into the estimating software
Liaise with specified suppliers to obtain their contractor list and / or quotations
Assist the Estimator in controlling costs, timing and quality in line with specified targets
To assist in producing, a detailed control document at handover to the delivery team
Any other duties consistent with the role of Trainee Estimator as may be required from time to time

You will be reporting to the Contracts Director, and the role comprises of but will not be limited to:
Timely and accurate submission of tenders.
Preparing tenders for internal adjudications.
Vetting incoming tenders/offers from our supply chain and ensuring that the most viable offer is included within our submission.
Arranging tender adjudication meetings and explaining to the attendees the project duration, costing approach and risks to the business.
Require Skills:
Commercially astute being able to identify and manage risk and to anticipate issues that may affect costs and address them proactively.
An eye for detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Proactive with the skills to assess better systems of work in order to advise and assist clients on systems that will save time and money.
Ability to take project ownership whilst under support of the project Director and work both on their own and as part of a wider multi-discipline team.
Experience and Qualifications:
Proven experience in a similar position with an M&E Contractor or in the M&E division of a Main Contractor.
Experience in the commercial office and warehousing sector would be an advantage.
Ability to estimate costs and timescales accurately and work to meet tender return deadlines.
Competent in the use of computers and data handling including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
General understanding of other MEP disciplines, BREEAM and Sustainability.
