Working on a landmark project in Somerset, you will play a key role in driving sustainability initiatives across the full construction lifecycle, ensuring ambitious environmental targets are achieved whilst embedding sustainable practices throughout project delivery.

Your Role as Sustainability Lead Will Include:
Leading the sustainability strategy across a major construction project.

To make records whilst on site and provide feedback to officers on key observations
Communicate effectively on the phone/face to face/in writing with all customers, colleagues, and stakeholders (i.e., the public, local businesses/traders, council officers, etc.) on relevant areas of work

Position Summary: This position is responsible for developing, instituting, and overseeing all aspects of Environmental, Health, Safety and Corporate Compliance. This includes but is not limited to ensuring the company complies with all federal and state health, safety and environmental laws, regulations and reporting standards.
Essential Functions:
Works with all personnel at the facility to make sure all safety and environmental regulations are met and are being followed;
Primarily responsible for both the overview of compliance as well as day-to-day operations with respect to safety and regulatory permits and reports. Ensure all are met with best practices and are compliant. This pertains to Federal, State, and Local regulations i.e. RCRA, EPA reporting requirements both directly to the EPA as well as those governed by Missouri DNR Air Pollution and HAZ WASTE;
Conduct and coordinate on-site daily inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Including but not limited to: PPE for specific tasks, Emission Points, Work Permits, General Housekeeping, Spill Kits, Satellite and Pre-Transport Waste Storage Areas, Fire Extinguishers, Shower and Eye Wash, etc.;
Be aware concerning all city, state and federal compliance regulations;
Conduct and improve training programs related to all aspects of safety and compliance in the facility for all personnel. This includes but not limited to: new employee training and refreshers, forklift safety, OSHA, hazwoper, contractor orientation, FOT/IATA, etc. All training should be conducted in a timely manner and ensure additional process specific trainings are sufficient to maintain safety for employees.
Maintain and update all plans required at the facility, including but not limited to: General Operating Permit, Hazardous Waste Generator Compliance, Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures, Emergency Response Plan, Compressed Gas Plan, Contingency Plans, Hazard Communication Program and Security Plans;
Essential reports such as TRI, Tier II, RMP, Quarterly and Biennial Waste Reporting (and their due dates) is the responsibility of your department. Assistance will be given from other staff to prepare and maintain this data;
Participate and help conduct Safety Committee meetings;

Maintain and improve environmental compliance programs related to hazardous wastes, air permitting, water pollution control, and community right-to-know programs;
Select and maintain safety equipment and safety supplies on site. To include purchasing and keeping track of the supplies and managing the costs of these supplies;
Reduce waste generation and costs of disposal. Upgrade monitoring, testing and instrumentation of waste and byproducts. Schedule and maintain all documentation related to all waste pickups, including certifying and recertifying waste profiles;
Improve overall safety, housekeeping and reliability of plant work areas and compliance systems;
Member of the PSM team;
Implement and coordinate the documentation and schedule for preventative maintenance of equipment through the Faciliworks program. Maintain, create and close work orders. Keep Asset List up to date within Faciliworks database. Train all maintenance personnel on these procedures and manage to ensure proper procedures are followed;
Ensure all permits (LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry), as well as MOC's are done correctly, and properly filed and archived.
Become proficient in generating, reviewing and updating SDS's and Labels for our product line. This will be a multi-member team as GHS is being implemented in 2015, however, in 2016 and future years' maintenance of this system will become part of your department;
Supervise, coach, motivate and develop staff.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in environmental management, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline, or high school diploma if degree with 5 years or more of direct experience in Process Safety Management, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience as described;
Specialized technical/aptitude experience: minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrated proficiency with manufacturing processes. Previous work and/or substantial knowledge of, including commonly used concepts, practices and procedures, within the thermoset polymer industry is a strongly considered asset;
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of office and facilities coordination and basic leadership and management knowledge; (if applicable to position)
Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication and presentation skills; (if applicable to position)
