Provide general teaching laboratory support including the setting up and clearing away of equipment, consumables and reagents
Prepare materials and reagents (e.g. stock solutions, agar plates etc.). This will require the accurate use of measuring devices such as balances and pH meter and sterilisation equipment such as serialisation ovens and autoclaves
Assist in the preparation of more complex reagents and biological materials
Recording and signing out materials and equipment for student loan
To be responsible for ensuring that equipment is accurately calibrated prior to classes starting and that all requirements are in place
To complete equipment function tests, maintenance and calibration. Equipment may include water baths, rotary evaporators, pH meters, microscopes, data loggers, electrophoresis equipment etc.
To identify simple faults and troubleshoot equipment during classes
Setting up of IT equipment
Receive deliveries (equipment, consumables and hazardous substances) and delivery documentation. Ensure deliveries are safely unpacked and that hazardous substances are stored according to regulations and that temperature sensitive deliveries are stored in appropriate fridges/freezers
Assist with the organisation and housekeeping of storage rooms, this may involve bringing equipment required for the day’s classes to the front of the store for easy access etc.
Carry out specified techniques, tests or experiments as directed
Identify simple problems and resolve and recognise when to refer issues to your manager
Maintain accurate records and draft routine documentation related to your duties
Ensure the health, safety and cleanliness of immediate work area, by encouraging staff and students to comply with all basic University/College Health & Safety policies and reporting any issues to your line manager, technical manager, laboratory manager or College Safety Advisor as appropriate

Come and join us on a Muddy Wellies Gardens apprenticeship, where we'll support you to develop a broad range of gardening skills and horticultural knowledge. You don't need experience for this role, just plenty of enthusiasm, lots of energy and a desire to learn.
As one of our Horticulture Apprentices, you'll be part of our Garden Team, helping to look after a range of varied and interesting client gardens in mid-West Cornwall.
You will meet your team each morning to help load the works vehicles before travelling to client gardens in the area. You will assist with, and learn how to; clear, maintain and develop client gardens with the Garden Team or to assist the Landscape Team in groundwork and and preparation for the build of new gardens.
Working alongside our experienced gardeners and/or landscapers you will carry out a range of tasks, you'll develop the skills and knowledge relevant to this apprenticeship standard.

As a Marine Assurance Officer at Fugro, you will serve as an independent advisor and coach to both the Company and its vessels on matters related to QHSSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) and marine operations. You will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Company’s internal standards, as well as verifying that all vessels adhere to applicable international regulations and industry best practices.
Within Fugro the Marine Assurance Officer is reporting both to the Regional Fleet Manager (Functional) and the Global QHSSE Manager (Hierarchical). You will closely collaborate with the vessels assigned and the relevant departments in the organization, e.g. Crewing, management, fleet development etc. You will support the teams and ensure full compliance with Class-, Flag and QHSSE standards and requirements.

Must hold a Nebosh General Certificate and have completed the ISO14001:2015 Auditor course
Sound knowledge of international maritime regulations and industry standards and QHSSEpractices.
