The Role: You’ll be part of the Responsive Repairs Team, carrying out a variety of carpentry and general maintenance tasks across residential properties.
Duties include:
1st & 2nd fix carpentry
Fitting doors, windows, and frames (internal & external)
UPVC servicing and installation
Basic locksmithing (lock snapping, drilling, picking)
Fencing (feather edge, chain link, etc.)
Kitchen fitting and minor joinery
Light plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating, and general repairs
What We’re Looking For:
NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry OR 5+ years of hands-on experience
Background in residential or social housing maintenance preferred
Strong health & safety awareness
Full UK Driving Licence (min. 1 year) – essential

Primary Job Duties
Understand plans and requirements for each task.
Cut and generally prepare required metal/shapes and weld according to structure plans.
Carry out skilled fabrication (new or replacement) using a variety of processes.

Primary Job Duties
Understanding the workings of a MIG/MAG welding set up and set up ready to weld.
Performing inspection on equipment prior to use.
Understanding welding principles for various welding processes, such as MAG 135 and MAG 136, and hold the relevant welding qualifications.
If required, have knowledge of submerged arc welding.
Capable of welding in all positions other than vertical down.
Can understand and work to WPS and method statements.
Booking out the relevant welding consumable for the WPS been worked to, and ensuring part reels are returned to Stores.
Inspect joint prior to welding to ensure free from contamination, in addition to ensure root gaps are within the WPS range and employ any ceramic backing where required. Any concerns are to be reported to the Welding Inspector.
Pre-heat prior to welding and ensure correct temperature before beginning.
Monitor interpass temperature during welding.
Leave welds to an acceptable standard.
Ensure welder ID and dates of welding are written on the job for traceability.
Responsible for cable management and housekeeping.
Follow health and safety protocol.
Use fume extraction equipment as per legislation.
