An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CMM Programmer to start working on new revolutionary designs and technology.
The Company is a leading component manufacturer and supplier, specialising in the machining and assembly of a number of product ranges for their chosen market. Commutable from Coventry, Daventry, Nuneaton, Leamington Spa, Banbury, Northampton, Birmingham and Leicester.
Reporting to the quality manager the role is to support, grow and continuously improve the manufacture of world-class products. The candidate will be a critical team leader in developing new methods of checking and validating internal components to drawing specifications. You will be required to work closely with the Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing teams to influence the quality for the manufacture of existing products and NPI.
The Role of CMM Programmer:
- Programme CMM machines for various components. Zeiss and Mitutoyo.
- Capable of using more traditional checking equipment, height gauges, micrometres, verniers, gauging (hard & electronic) etc.
- Understand & interpret 2D drawings and models.
- Control & influence quality procedures.
- Be the hands-on part of the NPI / design team introduction.
- Work closely with engineering during 1st off to production.
- Support the production team on a day-to-day basis to ensure timely delivery of customer expectations.
- Support the machining cells on real-time problem resolution and quality issues.
- Be proactive in the recommendation of new or improved quality techniques.
- Identify waste and define methods of reduction within the process to allow continual improvement.
The ideal CMM Programmer:
- CMM Programming & setting up of new checking processes.
- Able to read and interpret 2D drawings and models.
- A good knowledge of castings.
- A good knowledge of machining.
- 1st off inspection & reporting.
- Experienced in NPI and process improvements.
- Communicating and presenting data effectively.
- Familiar with Quality Systems / PPAP & Environmental Issues.
- Experience implementing Lean improvements.
- Ability to pick up a project from cradle to grave hitting pre-determined timelines.
- Experienced in Quality Processes including First Offs, APQP, NPI and inspection
- Knowledge of ISO9002 and other relevant systems.

- Starting salary up to £45k per annum for the CMM Programmer
- Monday to Thurs, 7.30 am to 4.30 pm / Friday 7.30 am to 12.30 pm (39 Hours Per Week)

Required Experience:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred. Industrial and Electrical Engineers with hands-on mechanical & chemical experience will also be considered. 5+ years of engineering job experience. Responsibilities
Produce details of façade systems based on architectural sketches.

Maintain internal drawing document control system.
Use data storage and retrieval systems on projects to download and upload project data.

Report Writing in relation to site visit/survey – compile well written text with suitable images.
Requirements
5 Years experience within the Façade industry or related field
Degree in Architectural Technology preferred but other qualifications such HNC or HND or degree level in an engineering subject will be considered
Familiarity with façade system designs, fabrication & assembly techniques
Experience of liaising with team members of all levels within an organisation
Working within a busy office and managing a busy & varied workload
Proficient in AutoCAD
Excellent organisational ability & time management.

The Opportunity
A rare opportunity has arisen to work closely with the Product Development lead on a new propositioning working in partnership with an independent Mortgage Broker. This role will play a crucial role in shaping and optimising a new distribution channel. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for an extension beyond this point. Key Accountabilities
- Develop the Distribution Business Model for the new partnership ensuring aligned strategic goals will be reached.
- Design mortgage distribution strategies in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Provide oversight and specification of training, accreditation, and qualification maintenance programs tailored to the mortgage channel.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as RG146, RG271 (complaints), LICOP, and considerations for disadvantaged and vulnerable customers, underwriting, and product standards.

REPORTING TO: Commercial Manager / Senior QS
Purpose of Role
Own all quantity surveying duties on your projects to ensure all commercial & contractual commitments are met & value is maximized.
Role Responsibilities
Manage day to day commercial and contract activities
Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintenance of associated registers ( e.g. Change Order Log)
Negotiate and obtain best value with placement of subcontract orders
Participate in the management of project budgets, cost plans and feasibility studies as appropriate
Validate and approve sub-contractors’ interim applications and final submissions including compliance with the Construction Contracts Act
Lead pre-appointment subcontractor meeting to ensure scope is clearly defined & appoint subcontractor in line with subcontract terms and with any flow downs from the main contract to mitigate any contractual risk
Prepare accurate monthly Cost Value Reports for review with Commercial Managers /Project Managers/Contracts Managers and presentation to the Projects Directors
Maximise cash flow through prompt submission of Monthly Valuations with full and accurate supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
Negotiate, draft and submit Final Accounts including claims in respect of; loss and expense, delay and disruption and any time extensions
Maintain a productive relationship with all the Design team professionals and Client representatives throughout the project
Ensure the full and proper implementation of the Team Commercial procedures where delegated authority so requires
The Candidate
Experience of working on large-scale, complex construction projects
Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of the various forms of contract used in the construction industry (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT etc.)
Ability to critically evaluate and identify gaps in documentation and commercial opportunity (contracts, drawings, specs, CVR’s)
In-depth knowledge and understanding of construction processes, techniques and systems
Demonstrates commercial awareness – market, competition, value for money
Strong numeracy and report writing skills
Strong negotiation & conflict management skills and Process oriented with focus on results
Process oriented & strong attention to detail

Qualifications and Skills:
Suitable experience in planning and scheduling.
Experience in the defence industry, or a low-volume, highly regulated industry, would be desirable.
Experience in cultural change and driving continuous improvement.
Qualifications in lean, six sigma, change / project management would be desirable.
Ability to negotiate and influence with and without authority.
