POSITION TITLE: Plant Custodian
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Plant Custodian cleans and maintains appearance of the plant and parking lots at both Large and Small Batch manufacturing sites and parking lots. The position reports directly to the Director of EHS.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and follow all plant safety rules and practices. Must be willing to perform janitorial and other manual tasks throughout the plant. Good time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have regular and predictable attendance. Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions from plant supervision and efficiently and effectively perform tasks. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of all buildings. Performs cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms and breakrooms. Ensures cleanliness of all breakrooms, meeting rooms and other areas of the plant as assigned. Maintains a neat and orderly janitors' closet; ensures cleaning supplies are stocked. Maintains the cleanliness of the outside of all buildings by picking up trash and debris and disposing of properly per safety policy. Use Wet Floor Signs. Take all trash out of plant. Turn in job assignment sheet daily. Must properly wear personal protective equipment as required for the task being performed. Follow all departmental and plant safety rules and requirements. Report any unsafe condition to your manager immediately. Performs other duties as assigned.
RECOMMENDED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must pass a drug screen and background check.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel is not required for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is carried out in a Production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to dust, fumes, and noise with safety procedures in place for protection. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including, but not limited to, eye protection, ear protection, dust mask, gloves, steel-toed shoes, and a hard hat. This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental, and health concerns will demand constant attention. Strict adherence to safety policies is a requirement of employment. Employees may be required to lift containers of up to 55 pounds of weight.

Tasks will be varied but will broadly include those to assist in the smooth-running of the editorial department, including:
Preparing and administering the sending/signing of non-royalty bearing contracts for book and digital products (contributor etc)
Commissioning peer reviews (proposals, manuscripts, articles) and soliciting pre-publication endorsements for projects as requested by their manager; ensuring these are delivered in a timely way; recording the progress of all projects under review/out for endorsement; ensuring payment as necessary
Taking responsibility for monthly pub procedure
Arranging ordering of copies of published books

Supporting editorial staff in managing data on internal databases (Biblio and BCM)
Responding promptly and appropriately to external and internal inquiries
Checking and, if necessary, clearing copyright permissions under guidance from the manager
Carrying out research into new projects on request of managerSending emails/letters of acknowledgement and rejection
Undertaking administrative tasks such as filing and archiving of paperwork
Setting up new titles on Biblio (our bibliographic database), and ensuring that any changes to projects are updated promptly and in line with key dates
Setting up and managing proposal review feedback for new projects
Preparing monthly title reports for author chasing

What will you do this year?In your role as an Icemaker II, your primary accountabilities will be to:
Perform custodial duties such as cleaning dressing rooms, showers, washrooms, seating areas, and general public buildings on assigned shifts.For the PWHL and for Community Ice, ability to Operate a forklift (asset), Zamboni (Required) and other cleaning equipment associated with custodian duties.Operate edger, spudder as well as repair (slush) ice surfaces.Maintain a safe and clean work environment.Clean and maintain ice surfaces for hockey, speed skating, figure skating and specialty events; including make/build, seal and paint ice surface as required.Replace board glass when necessary.Inspect nets, repair nets, and install new netting on goal posts as required.Install and remove ice logos.Set up for pre-game, post-game and between period events as necessary.Install board signs.Must comply with company and department policies and procedures.Complete ice thickness check sheets, Zamboni checks, and logbooks.Prepare ice surface for changeover.Perform other related duties as assigned.
