The Northamptonshire based IT Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting the technical design, systems planning, implementation, performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems.
The individual should be a hands-on expert, capable of managing the day to day IT operation of the businesses servers and complex operating systems, as well as to recommending the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. This will require investigation, analysis and feasibility studies of the global IT system requirements, to develop system specifications while identifying methods, solutions, and managing the delivery of a high level of service to the business.
The IT Support Engineer job will encompass:
Assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations, ensuring that system downtime is to a minimum.
Revisions to host system firmware and software are all applied correctly.
Perform troubleshooting as required, and lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and organisations.
Installing and maintaining systems and utility software on server computer systems, including server support related to other software.
Developing and maintaining a comprehensive security and protection environment.
Ideal candidates for the position of IT Support Engineer will possess the following skills:
Experience of Microsoft environments, including the cloud (Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS etc) and maintenance of several domains.
Knowledge of Server Operating Systems including Microsoft and Linux OSX.
Knowledge of Cisco networking equipment - routing, switching, and Firewalls.

As an Electrical Trials Technician Apprentice you will be responsible for the operation of various data capture equipment used in the Test and Evaluation Industry.
This role is wide-ranging, has both practical and theoretical elements and you will often be viewed as a multi-disciplined engineer, with knowledge of all electronic aspects of test and evaluation techniques.
We will help you develop into an Electrical Trials Technician that delivers safe, capable processes for optimised Test and Evaluation disciplines to specified standards.
Specific activities could include:
Working closely within a small but dedicated Test and Evaluation Trials team predominantly in a variety of outdoor High Hazard locations in the UK.
Planning and subsequent delivery of High Hazard Trials Engineering Tasks.
Gaining knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of new trials techniques.
Taking the opportunity to assist in Continuous Improvement projects.
Maintaining and repairing electronic equipment in our tests and evaluation facility.
Using computer software to enable data capture through appropriate hardware.
Planning, carrying out and reporting results from Test and Evaluation trials.
Compiling technical data to support design approval.
Supporting experienced engineers to specify and qualify new equipment used to test munitions products.
Ensuring there is a detailed Safe System of Work in place for the new techniques you develop.
Engaging with instrumentation suppliers to keep up to date with new technologies.
Gaining knowledge and experience from supporting the Manufacturing Team in resolving any issues that may arise.
Training:
