THE CANDIDATE
You will be an MEP Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK or EU firm of either PQS or MEP contractors.
Ideally you will have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management or Construction Economics or similar qualification in Building Services / Environmental Engineering services or similar.
You should have worked on a mix of MEP (Mechanical & Electrical Services) and ideally have an understanding of the building fabric and associated infrastructure in particular at more senior level.
You need to have either both pre and post contract MEP QS experience if you are from a PQS or MEP experience for post contract duties if for their contractors service.
You need to either be from the UK or have an EU passport as there will be projects coming up shortly in the EU.

The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Electrical Engineer to join our London team and learn what it takes to carry out the design of electrical services on some of the most exciting projects in the UK and worldwide.
You will assist with detailed electrical building services engineering design and analysis and help define and translate client requirements into workable designs for buildings, facilities and services (electrical distribution and power generation, security and access control) all with sustainability at the forefront of the design.
You will be provided training by our expert engineers on how to perform cable sizing and protective device settings selection and shown how to use calculation software such as Amtech, SKM or Etap.
As you develop your technical engineering skills with us on real-life projects, you will also be granted day-release to study for the appropriate academic qualifications at London South Bank University.

My client, an established firm of PQS now seeks an M&E QUANTITY SURVEYOR / CONSTRUCTION COST SPECIALIST to work as part of a team and to join them in DALLAS, TEXAS, USA with some travel required in the USA as required by each project.
You will work on a range of projects for construction and fit out of DATA CENTRES.
Duties will include white space fit out of data centres and more along with managing the tenant side for change orders, payment applications, risk exposure, risk registers etc.
The ideal candidate will have around five years construction cost experience with around two years of that working on construction costs for both fit out and new build for data centres.

THE CANDIDATE
You will be an MEP Quantity Surveyor / Construction Cost Specialist who has a couple of years experience of working on construction and fit out for Data Centres on top of experience of working on other types of construction projects doing Mechanical & Electrical Cost Management
Ideally you will have a Degree or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management or Construction Economics or similar construction / engineering qualification.
You should have worked on a mix of MEP (Mechanical & Electrical Services) plus the building fabric and infrastructure.
You may have worked for a firm of construction consultants and / or for a large contractor.
Good client facing skills are essential dealing with the tenant and tenant requirements.
Experience of dealing with payment applications, change orders, risk exposure etc. required.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
The role will include providing support during the design stage of projects to forecast and plan budgets, to help architects and designers to design construction projects to meet cost targets and to support the selection of constructors and the negotiation and agreement of construction contracts.
The role will also include working through the construction delivery stage of projects to manage all financial aspects of payments, managing change and negotiating the settlement of final accounts with building contractors.
The role will include a mix of working in our office, attending meetings with our clients and designers and spending time on construction sites valuing work done, measuring progress and agreeing accounts.
Training:An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
