We are looking for someone to focus on the maintenance, replacement, fault-find and commissioning on ships electrical systems such as Engine Control Systems. Power Management, Bridge Systems through CAN Bus and more – you will work in a team offering advice over the phone and email, if you cannot solve the issue over phone or email, you will travel to the vessel and repair/install/resolve the job.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Electrical Field Service Engineer:
Respond to customer requirements over the phone and via email
Produce timely and accurate quotations and invoices through and using the companies internal systems and documentation
Attend site (national and international) to act as the electrical engineer – you will fault find, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and replace, install and commission the electrical / electronic machinery and equipment onboard a vessel (PMS, Engine Control Systems, Ancillary Equipment, Bridge Equipment)
Clear report writing outlining work, hours and parts used
Qualifications and requirement for the Marine Electrical Field Service Engineer:
HNC or equivalent in Mechanical / Marine / Electrical Engineering
Full UK Driving Licence
Full UK Passport
Useful not essential, experience with: High voltage systems, PLC's, DC systems, Frequency converters

Power Supply Design Experience, ideally to Senior or Principal level
Strong lab experience in debugging complex power modules (hand-on experience)
Familiar with multiple power supply topologies (flyback, half bridge, full bridge,???)
Strong in experience in design for cost, manufacturability, testability and reliability
Experience in firmware development is a big plus (digitalization migration)
Role Responsibilities
Assist in identifying and organizing requirements for power electronics applications. Apply relevant usability procedures and principles. In charge of keeping the Product Maturity Tracker (requirement document) updated up to project closure.
Perform necessarily calculation/simulations to validate the design (efficiency calculation, identification of hot spot, estimation of temperature rise, EMC filter sizing, control loop bandwidth verification,???.)
Design magnetics with associated simulation. Magnetics needs to be outsourced using ???built to print??? manufacturing file methodology (to allow double sourcing)
Build prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing. Set up and run lab experiments. Design and implement tests, document results and develop customer presentations. Provide timely corrective actions on defects. Release test reports of all prototypes built using the standard Power CPE engineering test platform.

Duties of Marine Electrical / Electronic Engineer / Field Service Engineer.
You will undertake service, maintenance and installation of marine automation, navigation and communication equipment
At points, you will supervise field service teams / sub-contractors / shipyard labour with an aim of maintaining morale and team spirit, ensuring that all members of the team are fully familiar with the company QA policies, Health and Safety regulations
Conduct site surveys and detailed work specifications
Ensure an accurate list of tools and materials are created in line with the workload
