As the Business Process Continuous Improvement Manager, in Hertfordshire, will be a Fixed Term Contract and you will report into the Finance Director. This job plays a pivotal role in enhancing organisational efficiency by analysing, optimising, and streamlining business processes. This individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives, foster a culture of excellence, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives while delivering measurable improvements in productivity, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a Continuous Improvement strategy aligned with business goals.
Work with all the Heads of Departments (HoDs) to identify the Key departmental and cross functional processes, as well as any process gaps, and areas for improvement.
Lead workshops and training sessions enhancing Continuous Improvement capabilities across the business.
Work directly with teams and HoDs on change management to ensure the pace of change is appropriate and that new ways of working are embedded.
Using methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma, work with the HoDs to ensure that our processes are fit for purpose (Agile, efficient, resilient to errors, clearly understood, add value with clear accountabilities).
The successful Business Process Continuous Improvement Manager, Hertfordshire, will have:
2:1 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or IT Disciplines.
Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred (Black Belt a plus).
Proven experience in process improvement and project management, with proficiency in process mapping software and data analysis tools.

The Production Manager will oversee day to day activities of target manufacturing activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines and provide leadership for the shift supervisors and associates within the value stream. Drives the lean process to maximize profitable growth, provides premier customer service, develops a technically qualified workforce, reduce operating cost and inventories through incremental and quantum continuous improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes and ensures a safe and environmentally compliant work environment.
Drives Lean Management - including Tier Meetings, Supervisor Standard Work, Accountability Boards, and overall process discipline.

Direction of Supervisors and development of workforce. Install structure and discipline relative to start/stop times and break times, as well as other fixed non-productive (example: vacuum) times. Define standard work for Kettle and Varnish Operators. Upgrade Supervision floor presence.
Implement Lean Management. Tier Meetings, Accountability Board, Follow up on key constraint reductions.
Learn and implement Lean principles.
Evaluate gaps of Actual and Expected Lean performance and address the gaps with the Leadership Team, utilizing the Division Black Belt and other internal resources as required.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Manufacturing Engineer's responsibilities are broad and include safety, product quality, process control, productivity improvement, and development of a LEAN culture. The Manufacturing Engineer is expected to spend a significant amount of time on the floor and lead large capital project teams.

Safety

LEAN Culture
Active participant in MS-168 Management Operating System.
Develop and execute upon "standard work" activities.
Continuous Improvement champion promoting and driving the "Small K" program.
Conduct "GEMBA Walks" daily. Use walks as the primary means of education and communication of expectations.
Improve productivity through elimination of non-value-added activities. Apply Engineering principles and methodologies to improve productivity and eliminate waste.
Maintain and continually improve the plant layout and flow.
Computer Software

Must have experience in both practical Manufacturing Engineering and Project Management.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Six Sigma Green Belt.
