The apprenticeship training programme will last 15 months, and you will study towards achieving the Level 2 apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy.
You will train one day a week at our state-of-the-art college located in Macclesfield, with a view to achieving your apprenticeship qualification as well as continuing your training in the salon.
This would include:
Prepare customers for nail treatments etc.
Reception duties.
Meet and greet customers.
Maintain a clean salon.
Provide refreshments to the customers.
Treatments that you will learn and eventually deliver.
Hair Removal.
Tanning.
Gel Nails.
Hands and Feet (Manicure / Pedicure).

Facials.

You will learn to implement and practice safe ways of working for yourself and others in accordance with legal, beauty therapy and organisational requirements. Whilst gaining the skills to carry out, maintain and store details in relation to client records and confidential beauty treatment consultations. You will learn to understand and facilitate client journeys, recording messages and making appointments alongside handling payments from clients.
This qualification will be achieved through continual assessment of your practical work, your theory understanding, using tests and oral questioning; evidence of competence will be collected in a portfolio of evidence. You will also have an end-point assessment at the end of your training.
You will understand, learn the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to help you choose the most appropriate products and range of beauty therapy techniques, products, tools, and equipment to provide all aspects of beauty therapy.
You will be given the knowledge to provide advice and recommendations on the beauty treatments and future appointments for you clients whilst maintaining professional values that meet beauty therapy industry requirements and expectations.Training Outcome:

Preferably no false lashes; if worn, must be a natural look
Shoes should be professional, plain black and rubber-soled (no converses, no sliders or platform shoes)
We are looking for a friendly and helpful attitude with a willingness to learn and get involved with all aspects of salon work
We require a team player with the ability to use your own initiative
To feel happy and comfortable enough to ask if you are not sure
Please note once your shifts have been agreed, attendance is essential as there may be training or clients to deliver treatments on. If you miss the dates, you may not get any alternative dates, so may not complete your work experience hours
The hours you will be given will be on days between Friday-Sunday
You will be sent a salon handbook, please read it in full prior to coming in for your first shift (there is a lot of information but will make your transition into the salon much easier)
If you have other commitments, please make us aware prior to starting so that we can see if we can accommodate it
If you are already setting up or running your own beauty business of any sort, we will not be able to offer you work experience as there will be a conflict of interest
Please use the locker you’ll be allocated to put your personal possessions including your phone to reduce distraction during your time at the salon
There may be an expectation that you will deliver some level 2 beauty treatments, please make sure your polishing is up to commercial standards (not if you are just starting your level 2)
