CNC Miller Setter / Operator (Fanuc) with experience of manufacturing components in Stainless Steel / Aluminium required ASAP for a Permanent role in Knutsford Area. Salary is £30,351 pa inclusive of 25% shift uplift (days salary, £24,281 pa) + Bens. The basic working week is approx. 40 hours/week (Mon - Fri 6am-2pm & Mon - Thur 2pm-11pm & Fri 2-6pm) plus occasional O/T.

Job Purpose: To effectively produce components using the to the required quality and timescale and in accordance with the job specification/drawing and works order.
The successful CNC Miller Setter / Operator day to day duties will include:
Prioritise, in accordance with Team Leader’s instructions and work in progress requirements, works orders received from the Cutting Room
Ensure material received is to specification. Refer any inaccuracies to the Team Leader.
Identify and load the appropriate programme for the specific job, referring to the Pro-Engineer report. If no programme exists or a program error has occurred report to the Team Leader
Manufacture components to production deadlines ensuring the CNC / manual machines are operated safely and that the appropriate checks have been carried out
Ensure that the completed component is checked against the specification, is de-burred and engraved and blasted as required
Manufacture jigs and fixtures to aid the machining of components
Follow the machine maintenance schedule; respond appropriately and quickly to machine alarms.
Report any faults with the machine to the Team Leader
Carry out weekly 5S audits on area as requested by Team Leader
Deal professionally, competently and courteously with customers, suppliers and colleagues in problems and offer advice with verbal and written communications
To be suitable for this CNC Miller Setter / Operator role you must have the following experience / characteristics:
Must have previous experience of setting / operating Fanuc controlled CNC milling machines
Must have previous experience of using manual milling machine.
Ideally be a time served or completed relevant apprenticeship as a CNC / Manual machinist.
Must have undertaken formal training in CNC setting and operation.
Highly motivated and keen to succeed.
To be more suitable for this CNC Miller Setter / Operator role it would be more advantageous if you have the following skills / experience:
Ideally will have attended programming courses run by machine manufacturers.
Online programming experience.
Relevant qualifications in manual machining / CNC machining.
Previous experience of manufacturing stainless steel / aluminium parts.
Previous experience of using Hitachi Seiki HiCells C.N.C machines.

We’re looking for a talented CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator (FANUC) with experience of machining components in exotic materials for a permanent role for our client in Skelmersdale / Wigan area. £32,000- £34,000 pa (dependent on experience and qualifications). The basic working week is 40 hours/week (Mon – Fri days – 8am – 4.30pm) plus possible O/T.

The Role:
Based in Skelmersdale, as the CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator you will be primarily responsible for programming and operating CNC machines.
In the CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator role, you’ll be tasked with the following:
Use of steadies to machine components up to 4M long.
To ensure supplied product meets all customer requirements.
Documenting all Required Data and Reporting in correct manner.
Ensuring inspection equipment in a known state of calibration is used for checking customer product.
For ensuring that the unique part identity and status of products handled is maintained
For working safely and following company safety codes.
Must be time served (NVQ 3 or equivalent). Experience in a previous or similar position (3 years minimum)
Have a good understanding of ISO 9001/2015 quality systems.
Good planning and organisation skills along with good communications skills both with peers and management.
The standard working hours for this position are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30 or shifts where deemed required.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator role will have relevant experience of establishing tool requirements.
You’ll also need experience of reading, writing and understanding CNC programs in FANUC (essential).
Plus, it’s vital that you’ve got experience of generating programs offline using CAPT CAD Cam system or One CNC.
In addition, you’ll need the ability to read and understand drawings and the ability to use and read a range of measuring equipment to perform the CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator role.

Produce programs for in house CNC manufactured items from drawings received from Design Engineers.
Inform Design Engineers of billet sizes for BOM purposes for tooling. Ensure CNC programs are available for release to the machine operator through DNC link.
Produce Pro-Report drawing for use by machine operator.

Completed relevant engineering apprenticeship such as a CNC / Manual machinist, Toolmaker, Mechanical Engineer.
Recent experience of using Hexagon’s EDGECAM CADCAM offline CNC programming software
Previous experience of setting and operating CNC Milling machines.
Able to read engineering drawings and use had held dimensional measuring equipment.
Must have undertaken formal training in CNC programming
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
Highly motivated and keen to succeed.
Attended training courses run by relevant software / machine manufacturers (advantageous)
PTC / Creo (Pro-Manufacture or Pro-Engineer) programming experience (advantageous)
