Take on a pivotal Quantity Surveyor role with a fast-growing contractor delivering Mechanical and Electrical projects across Scotland. Your Role as Quantity Surveyor Will Include:
Managing valuations and applications across multiple live mechanical and electrical projects
Preparing and submitting valuations to strict deadlines
Pricing variations and managing commercial changes
Supporting estimating and tender processes
As a Quantity Surveyor You Will Have:
Exposure to overseeing Mechanical & Electrical projects
Experience with valuations, variations and subcontractor packages
Full UK Driving licence

Support Quantity Surveyors with the day‑to‑day cost management of construction projects
Learn how to measure works and help prepare cost estimates and valuations
Assist with ordering materials and working with subcontractors and suppliers

Training:When at work, your time will be spent gaining a broad experience, both on-site in Hackney and at our Head Office in Woodford Green.Training Outcome:
After achieving a Level 4 apprenticeship, you will be eligible to apply for our Level 6 Construction Quantity Surveyor degree apprenticeship, when you should progress to Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
On completion of the Level 6 degree-apprenticeship, you would be in a strong position to progress to Quantity Surveyor.
Beyond this point, there will be ample opportunities to swiftly progress further within the business.

Assist the Commercial Lead / Estimator / Quantity Surveyor with the following duties and responsibilities:
Support with the full tender process from enquiry to submission, including interpreting specifications, pricing works, coordinating supplier/subcontractor input, and preparing professional tender documentation
Support with client relationships through proactive communication, attending tender meetings/interviews, and supporting negotiations to secure orders and contracts
Support project delivery post-award by handing over to delivery teams, assisting with value engineering, variations, and ongoing commercial or technical queries
Participate in tender handover from estimating department
Ensure adequate LOI or PO in place
Prepare profit plan
Procure subcontract packages and orders ensuring compliance with specification, drawings and employers requirements
Prepare and submit client applications
Visit site regularly and join application meetings with the client
Complete site measures where relevant
Participate in team meetings and liaise with the site team
Training:
The Apprentice will be working closely with an experienced team, therefore a great learning opportunity
They will be undertaking a Higher Apprenticeship and receive their HNC
Formal training will be undertaken remotely with the training provider; University College of Estate Management, this is usually one day per week and can either be done in the office or from home
A Level 4 qualification in Construction and Built Environment
Training Outcome:Once this Apprenticeship has been achieved it is likely the Apprentice will progress onto the Level 6 Construction Quantity Surveyor (Degree). From here they are able to progress within their Surveying career from Apprentice to Assistant, Surveyor to Commercial Management. Assisting estimators and project managers with preparing budgets and cost plans for trenchless and tunnelling works
Gathering supplier and subcontractor quotations and building tender comparisons
Measuring drawings and quantities to support bid submissions
Maintaining databases of material, plant, and labour costs
Assisting in financial tracking and reporting on live projects
Helping to prepare client quotations, progress valuations, and cost summaries
Learning about commercial risk, procurement, and cost control in specialist civil engineering
Training:
Training will be at Doncaster College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer
Day release
You will undertake the Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard
You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or maths if needed
