This specialist fit-out contractor is expanding due to growth and consistent delivery to their list of blue chip clients and are now looking for an ambitious and driven Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Work on multiple projects with a quick delivery turnaround, projects ranging from Northern Ireland and mainland UK. The role of the assistant quantity surveyor will involve: *Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets, valuations, and cost reports. Work closely with the commercial team to ensure accurate tracking of costs, variations, and forecasts throughout the construction lifecycle. *Help prepare tender documents, conduct supplier comparisons, and support the procurement of subcontractors and materials, ensuring best value while maintaining quality and compliance standards. *Carry out on-site quantity take-offs, maintain records of measurements and site progress, and contribute to the administration of contracts and interim payment applications in collaboration with site and office teams.
The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have: *Driving licence and commutable to Newry and happy to travel to mainland England when required *Some experience working as a Quantity Surveyor ideally within fitout or design and build experience *Can do attitude and willingness to learn and get stuck in supporting the team

THE ROLE
My client, an established firm of PQS now seeks a QUANTITY SURVEYOR at Graduate / Assistant / Project Surveyor level ideally with some experience or an interest in the role of EMPLOYER'S AGENT role to join them in the Stockport, Greater Manchester area.
You will have the opportunity of working on a range of projects including residential and care homes for private and public sector clients.
You will be involved in all aspects of Cost Management doing both pre and post contract duties including overseeing cost management and budget control, dealing directly with clients and stakeholders, preparing reports and maintaining project documentation, ensuring compliance with contracts etc.
THE COMPANY
My client is a firm of PQS with a good range of clients and they are on various client frameworks.
They are a firm of construction consultants offering clients both cost management, employer's agent and project management services.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK firm of PQS.
At Graduate or Assistant level you will ideally have a year or more experience of working for a UK firm of PQS doing both pre and post contract duties.
You will need to have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or MSc in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics or similar and be keen to work towards becoming chartered with the RICS.
An interest in doing the Employer's Agent role is required including contract administration.
You should first class communication skills, both written and spoken.
You will need to be a car owner and driver as some of the projects are not near to public transport.
You should have a stable work record.
You must have excellent English both written and spoken along with good IT skills and have good client facing skills.
Salary is in the region of £28000 to £50000 (depending on your level) plus car allowance, pension contribution plus RICS fees and two discretionary bonus' per annum. Health insurance after a year.
