Your Role as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor will include:
* Managing client relationships throughout the project lifecycle* Understanding and addressing stakeholder requirements* Assisting in the commercial delivery of projects* Supporting the preparation of cost forecasts to ensure projects stay on budget and meet deadlines
The Ideal Candidate will have:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, with progress toward MRICS accreditation* Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within in civil engineering or construction* A full, clean driver’s license* Willingness to travel as required* Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts

THE ROLE
I am seeking an MEP Quantity Surveyor to work for a firm of PQS / construction consultants based in London.
They are working on both new build and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors which includes commercial offices, mixed use, residential, stadia and arenas, data centres and more.
You will be involved in all aspects of the PQS role doing both pre and post contract work.
They will be interested in candidates at all levels from Assistant MEP QS, MEP Project Surveyor, Senior MEP Project Surveyor and possible Associate MEP QS.
THE COMPANY
My client is a busy established firm of construction consultants providing Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Employers Agent etc. for projects both in the UK and abroad.
They currently have two UK offices.
They work on both new build and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors to include commercial offices, residential, arenas, sports stadia and data centres.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be an MEP Quantity Surveyor from either a PQS or Building Services MEP contractor.
You will need to have at least 2 years or more experience working as an MEP Quantity Surveyor in the UK.
Experience across a range of building projects is preferred.
You should be able to use CostX or a similar billing programme for all MEP engineering services.
You should have good analytical skills and be able to manage MEP QS tasks through to completion.
You should have a stable work record.
You must have excellent English both written and spoken.
Salary is negotiable but likely to be in the range of £50000 to £90000 per annum plus benefits which includes RICS fees, pension, discretionary bonus and other benefits.

Receive an introduction to the role of Quantity Surveying and Estimating and a general grounding in the construction process through understanding Commercial techniques, an introduction to our standard documents and software and familiarisation with our product and on-site practice through site visits.
Liaise with the wider Surveying team to establish requirements for pre-contract expenditure and strategic procurement, assisting the Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor where required.
Work alongside the wider Surveying and Estimating team to determine allowances in tender sum for specification and employer’s requirements, understanding our processes and procedures.
Assist in agreeing the selection of suitable subcontractors for works packages and maintaining and reviewing the approved list of subcontractors in accordance with company procedure.
Assist in the preparation of Production Forecast cash flow and monitor client cashflows on a monthly basis where appropriate.
Assist with the preparation of tender evaluations (A1 and C6 accounts forms) for approval/signing by the authorised signatory.
Assist in the agreement of subcontractor interim and final accounts, including any variations, and working on the preparation of monthly cost to completes and other financial information.
Assist in the application of retention releases in accordance with relevant contract retention release clauses.
Assist with the processing of subcontractor payments on a monthly basis.
Assist in keeping the RAMS schedule updated and issued to all relevant parties.
Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager to support the wider team.
